Mecuris began as a spin-off from the University Hospital of Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich and is now nationally and internationally recognized as a pioneer in the digitalization of orthopedic technology. In 2019, the young medtech company was awarded the prestigious Tech Startup Award by the European innovation network EIT Digital.
The objective of the communications work is to increase openness among orthopedic technicians — a traditionally conservative profession — to engage with digital solutions. The aim is to help them see digitalization as an opportunity and to encourage them to explore the offerings of a digital service provider like Mecuris and its Mecuris Solution Platform for the digital production of orthopedic devices. Our task is to translate these communication goals to the target audience and gradually build the right media relations.
“Fortis is a strong partner for our PR efforts. Together, we developed a clear strategy to get our messages into the minds of our target audiences. Beyond their content expertise, the Fortis team impressed us with how they built the right media contacts. We’re looking forward to continuing our collaboration!”
Eva Stahl, Head of Marketing, Mecuris GmbH
After the groundwork, a detailed strategy consultation and the formulation of PR goals, Fortis PR succeeded in building up a comprehensive distribution list from the fields of orthopaedic technology, user media and start-up and business press in order to improve communication between media partners and customers. A central part of our collaboration was the development of a consistent, well-structured internal workflow — for both complex technical articles and compact press releases. Who contacts the media? Where are requests consolidated? Who communicates what to whom?
